fashion week

With my internship I had the opportunity to attend Hong Kong Fashion Week from July 6-9. Held at the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre on Hong Kong island, on the first day I watched Cross Vision: New Mission fashion show. The program showcased about ten Hong Kong designers. A lot of the garments were elaborate and costume-like; much more like wearable-art than street clothes. My favorite collection I found a bit disturbing. Created by Michael Lau, it reminded me of ghost forms. Using white piping he sculpted body extensions that resembled worms and hives. Some of the bodysuits completely covered the model's bodies including hands and feet which I found freakish.
